2024 wedding trends for your barn wedding

Planning a wedding day can be extremely exciting, but you may also find it slightly daunting. It can be difficult to know where to start, but we often find that taking a look at what other brides and grooms are doing, as well as trends for the upcoming year, can be a great start! We’ve put together a list of our favourite trends for 2024, from sustainability to celebrant-led ceremonies; all of these ideas are perfect for a beautiful barn wedding.

Celebrant-Led Ceremonies

In recent years, there has been a huge increase in celebrant-led wedding ceremonies. These days, many couples choose to have their legal ceremony on one day and then have a beautiful, tailor-made ceremony in front of family and friends. These ceremonies also work wonderfully as a follow-up to a union at the nearby parish church. Celebrant-led ceremonies allow you to incorporate your own vows, personal jokes, and song lyrics and even involve family members in your nuptials. This style of ceremony oozes personality, and we are sure to see more of these in 2024!

Capture the Moment

Many couples are now leaning towards a more natural style of photography which really lends itself to a wedding here at Curradine Barns. With beautiful 17th-century barns and secret gardens as your background, your photographer will not need to interrupt conversations and pose people for the perfect shot. Heartfelt moments and bursts of laughter will be captured with ease as your skilled photographer moves throughout the sumptuous rooms and outdoor spaces. To preserve the memory of the day further, you could also book a videographer or make use of our fantastic photo booth!

Bright and Beautiful

Our historic barns and versatile spaces offer a blank canvas so that our couples can get creative with their wedding décor! While some guests may prefer muted tones and pretty pastels, 2024 is the year of bright and bold colours. Vibrant florals, coloured dresses and 1970s prints are in for this coming year, so why not include your favourite colours in your plans?

Raise a Glass

A wonderful way to welcome your evening guests or to get the party started is to have a pop-up bar at your reception. This is a fun way to showcase your favourite drinks while you mingle with guests. You have a number of options here including a gin bar, a rum bar or even kegs of locally sourced ales!

Exciting Evening Food

The days of soggy sandwiches are long gone and the trend for tasty and innovative evening food isn’t going anywhere. Here at Curradine Barns, evening food is never an afterthought and couples have plenty of delectable options to choose from. In the cooler months, the atmospheric barn is the perfect place for you to tuck into our warm sausage rolls and mustard or you could opt for a festive cheeseboard for a December wedding. In the warmer months, the gorgeous courtyard is a great backdrop for a late-night barbecue or morsels of tasty street food served from the Curradine Cantina.

A Sustainable Day

With more and more people making eco-friendly choices in day-to-day life, couples are also being more mindful when it comes to wedding planning. Even small changes can help our planet. Whether you decide to print your invitations on recycled paper, rent your wedding attire or create a locally sourced menu, these small tweaks help to reduce waste and help to preserve our stunning natural surroundings. Our team will work will you to make sure every detail is just right.

Stay the night!

If you have guests travelling from further afield, or you would simply like to extend your celebrations into the next day with a family breakfast or a country walk, your guests could always stay over. Weekend-long weddings are becoming more popular, and with such a wonderful location, it is a shame to rush home. There is on-site accommodation for up to twenty-four of your nearest and dearest in the charming farmhouse as well as a luxurious honeymoon suite for the happy couple.
