Ami and Adam’s cute and quirky wedding

Ami and Adam dreamed of a rustic barn wedding in Worcestershire, finding exactly what they were looking for at Curradine Barns. The venue not only met all their requirements in terms of style, it also boasted lots of added extras.

The couple planned to make use of the spacious Farmhouse accommodation, which would accommodate up to 20 of their guests for an overnight stay. They also loved the added perk of the complimentary honeymoon stay, which would be a lovely way to end their special day.

“As soon as we viewed Curradine Barns, we knew it was ‘the one’. Not only is it exclusively yours for the day, it’s also stunning with great staff and food and fantastic accommodation on site.” – Ami

The theme and styling

The couple were keen to accentuate the Barns’ rustic style and so stuck with a rustic-inspired quirky wedding theme. They also styled their venue in pretty pastel colours, perfect for their springtime wedding.

The décor included lots of jam jars and bunting as well as handmade details, designed to personalise their day. In fact, Adam was behind much of the couple’s DIY wedding décor, turning his hands to a number of creative projects. He made the couple’s cards box from a bass drum and created a drop-top guest book as well as the bunting and the record/vinyl table plan. The pair also sought help from family and friends to create other DIY wedding elements, including light-up letters.

The dress

In keeping with her quirky wedding theme, Ami opted for a cute tea-length wedding dress. Her A-line gown, designed by Ellis, featured pretty lace detailing on the front and stylish sheer straps. Ami’s two bridesmaids complemented her in tea-length gowns in a pretty blue silver colour while her groom dressed in grey with a quirky bow tie.

Big day celebrations at Curradine Barns

Ami and Adam were keen to take advantage of all Curradine Barns’ facilities on their big day. This meant Ami and her bridesmaids arrived bright and early to get ready in the spacious Bridal Dressing Room. Located just a few steps away from Granary Barn, Ami didn’t have far to go to meet her groom. Their ceremony took place in the atmospheric Barns, with family and friends looking on.

One of the highlights of the couple’s wedding day was their delicious food feast, provided by the venue’s catering team. For their wedding breakfast, they indulged in a country vegetable soup, followed by a burgundy chicken main and rich chocolate torte dessert. Come evening, the pair and their wedding guests tucked into the two’s favourite food – wood-fired pizza.

Ami and Adam’s evening celebrations began with a bang, with live music from one of the most popular Staffordshire wedding bands. The Red Letters played a cracking mix of tunes to suit everyone and kept guests and the newlyweds on the dance floor all night long. In fact, Adam got up on stage to join the band at one point – much to Ami’s surprise.

At the end of the night, the pair retired to Curradine’s unique Honeymoon Suite. Of course, that wasn’t before the couple’s sparkler send-off – a romantic close to their perfect day.

Memorable moments

Ami and Adam’s special day was full of moments that made them smile and laugh out loud. Some of Ami’s favourites were those of her husband on their wedding day… along with a few comedy moments!

“Adam played the drums with our live band, The Red Letters, and it had to be one of the stand-out moments of the day. He had sneaked off to practise with them earlier in the year and so it had all been planned as a surprise.

The funniest moment had to be when we were having our photos taken. We were in a field with sheep everywhere and I’m afraid the bridesmaid stepped in some sheep poo!” – Ami

Ami and Adam’s final thoughts

When asked about their wedding at Curradine Barns, Adam and Ami told us:

“The staff were amazing, as was the food. We wouldn’t have done anything differently except eat more pizza on the day and gotten more sleep the night before!” – Ami and Adam
