Chrissy and Nathan’s Natural Wedding

Chrissy and Nathan’s idyllic winter wedding was brimming with style and romance.

The Perfect Venue

Chrissy visited Curradine in 2014 in her role as a wedding photographer and loved it straight away.

“The location was perfect with plenty of beautiful inside spaces.” – Chrissy

Theme of the Day

The happy couple loved the natural look of the barns so decided to keep their décor simple and organic, in keeping with the Curradine style, adding a cosy fire and fairy lights to their February wedding day. A soft, pastel colour scheme was introduced naturally through flowers and foliage and the main decorations were pretty centerpieces, a fabulous seating plan and illuminated letters.

“We really wanted the day to have a cosy feel and for everyone to feel happy. The day was emotional and we were overwhelmed by the love from our family and friends.” – Chrissy and Nathan

All About the Dress

Chrissy wore a dress by Enzoani with a glamorous keyhole back. A high neckline meant that Chrissy didn’t need a necklace so her main accessories were sparkly shoes from New Look and an equally sparkly bag from Accessorize.

“I knew it was a dress that I would love to photograph. I tried it on not expecting it to be the one… but it was!” – Chrissy

As for the Groom and the Bridesmaids…

Nathan looked the part in a charcoal suit with grey tie, all from ASOS. Three of Chrissy’s bridesmaids wore nude pink pleated maxi dresses, while the other two wore the same dress in a soft grey shade. Chrissy also had a ‘bridesman’ who wore a co-ordinating grey suit.

Beautiful Blooms

The bride carried a beautiful bouquet of eucalyptus leaves, white thistles, dried poppy heads, cotton plants, white berries, wheat and giant succulents – hand tied with hessian. Her bridesmaids carried simple posies of gypsophila, also tied with hessian.

Continuing the theme of nature, centerpieces were tall bottles filled with the same blooms as the bridal bouquet. And, favours were on trend mini succulents which also added to the table decoration. As for the top table, a long crate was designed as a miniature garden with succulents, moss, thistles and poppy heads.

The Wedding Breakfast

On a rather stormy day, guests enjoyed Winter Pimms and Lemon Grass and Ginger Sparkler in the cosy bar. Tasty canapés included crispy risotto balls and grilled sirloin of beef, while the children were treated to milk and cookies! When it came to the main menu, Chrissy and Nathan chose their favourite food, starting with a scotch egg and moving on to sausage and mash. As for pudding, the couple chose something they enjoy making together… Eton Mess!

Let Them Eat Cake!

Chrissy had her heart set on a fabulous cheese stack so that was one of the two amazing cakes. Thinking of any guests who might not enjoy cheese, they also had a two-tier naked cake filled with jam and buttercream and topped with strawberries.

Evening Celebrations

While a magician entertained guests during welcome drinks, a great DJ got the evening party started. Illuminated letters set the evening scene, and the newlyweds danced their first dance to ‘Once in a Lifetime’ by Landon Austin. As the sun went down, the Curradine pizza oven sprang in to action, alongside the cheese stacked ‘cake’ with crackers and chutneys.

“We loved that the barns had a dance floor and separate seating area, so people could go for a dance, or have a good chat. ” – Chrissy and Nathan

Chrissy’s Top Tip

“Plan your day exactly how you want it. Make sure you’re happy with everything you choose and don’t worry about a thing!” – Chrissy and Nathan
