Sophie and Michael’s Elegant Country Wedding At Curradine Barns

Exquisite food, rustic style and the most fabulous dress were just some of the ingredients of Sophie and Michael’s romantic June wedding.

That Venue Vibe

Sophie and Michael loved the entire venue, especially the Granary Barn, which they felt was the perfect place to exchange their vows.

“We chose Curradine Barns because we felt at home the moment we walked in” – Sophie

Embracing Country Style

Sophie and Michael wanted to create a rustic, natural style and knew Curradine Barns would lend itself perfectly to that look. Neutral shades were introduced with white flowers, hessian and foliage, offering a relaxing, calm ambience.

All About the Dress

Sophie’s beautiful gown was by Claire Mischevani.

“I knew I wanted to wear one of her dresses before I was even engaged! It was a true fairy-tale experience and made me feel absolutely magical.” – Sophie

She saved money on inexpensive jewellery and found fabulous Jenny Packham shoes in the sale; a great bargain!

As for the Groom and the Bridesmaids…

Michael wore a dapper Hugo Boss suit, while five of the six bridesmaids found lovely dresses from Marks and Spencer.

“We added jewelled belts which I found on Ebay to finish off the look nicely” – Sophie

The youngest bridesmaid, Sophie’s sister Claire, looked beautiful in a Claire Mischevani design with blue sash.

“They were all stunning and such a support on the morning of the wedding, Thank you, girls!” – Sophie

Beautiful Blooms

When it came to flowers, Jane at Long Barn Flowers created beautiful arrangements. Gypsophila was used for the bridesmaids’ posies and centerpieces while Sophie carried a bouquet of gypsophila and roses.

“We had gypsophila buttonholes for the men and rose corsages for the ladies. It was exactly what we had envisioned” – Sophie

Finally, the creative bride decorated jars for table flowers with hessian and music paper.

Order of the Day

Gin Berry Fizz and canapés were served during the welcome reception before guests sat down to dine. King prawn and saffron ravioli was followed by beef two ways and for pudding, a trio of desserts.

“The food was exquisite and something all our guests have commented on since the big day” – Sophie

Let Them Eat Cake!

The happy couple chose a naked cake by Kimmy Loves Cake, beautifully decorated with fruit.

Evening Celebrations

As day turned to evening, a DJ played songs requested by the guests and Sophie and Michael danced their first dance to ‘Soco Amaretto and Lime’ by Brand New.

“It’s a song that means a lot to us but we knew our guests wouldn’t know it, so halfway through the DJ skipped it to ‘I believe in a thing called love’ by The Darkness which got everyone up and dancing!” – Sophie

The Curradine Cantina in The Courtyard provided wood-fired pizza, alongside beer drums and cocktails which went down a treat.

Moments to Make You Smile

“Our two-year old son, Indy, joined us at the front during our ceremony. He spent the entire time saying, “No Mommy – don’t!” whenever the registrar asked if I would take Michael to be my husband. It brought some humour into the room and really helped create that relaxed atmosphere that we had craved!” – Sophie

And finally…

“Our wedding co-ordinator, Dale, was amazing from start to finish. Without Dale I wouldn’t have been as able to relax and enjoy the day! Everyone at the venue was fantastic, answering any last-minute questions and ensuring we had thought of everything.”
